General information

What documents do I need?

To sign up you’ll need a copy of your driver’s licence with your current address or change of address sticker, your passport/birth certificate or citizenship certificate, and your driving history issued by your state road and transport authority.

Do I need good credit history to join Access?

We do conduct appropriate credit and background checks to ensure we are acting responsibly, so your credit history may be considered in your application. We will actively help you build a positive credit history by reporting on-time payments to relevant credit reporters.

How long does it take to get a vehicle?

Depending on background and credit checks, you should be behind the wheel of your new vehicle within a week.

Where is Access available?

At the moment we operate exclusively in Sydney. But keep an eye out for us in many more Australian cities very soon.

Am I allowed to use my Access vehicle for personal use?

Please do! The car is yours to use 24/7 predominantly for business purposes and of course incidental personal use.

Can my friend/partner/relative drive the vehicle?

Subject to approval, you can nominate a second driver to use the vehicle for incidental personal use, however only one driver may use the vehicle for ridesharing.

Insurance information

Am I insured?

The insurance policy covers the liability of you and your passengers from the use of the vehicle. It also provides comprehensive vehicle cover for most day-to-day driving, including using the vehicle for business use. Most importantly this includes using the vehicle for ridesharing.

Please note: Insurance coverage is specified in your rental agreement and only valid if you adhere to the conditions which are provided to you at the time of rental.

Is there any excess?

There is $750 excess if you’re at fault in an accident. In cases where you aren’t at fault, your excess will still need to be paid to process your claim, however will be refunded to you if you did not cause the accident at all (and this is not in dispute), and provide sufficient information about the other responsible driver.

What happens if I’m in an accident?

Ensure that everyone involved is safe. If there are any serious injuries, call an ambulance on 000. After you have attended to all medical issues, please ring your dedicated support contact.
